This year is slightly different. We always ask to donate a toy/new clothes/new toiletries and so forth....but think about this for one moment....if you were an abused woman with kids would you not want the flexibility to buy what you need for your kids and yourself as suppose to graciously accept whatever is there to choose from. A easy gift certificate give them the second chance to purchase what they need...a luxury that we take for granted.

Dear Friends, In 2011 during a conversation with some neighbors, we discussed how easy it is to get caught up in gifts and that our children simply do not need so many toys to play with! That being said, we thought it would a great idea to turn our attention to those in need, specifically in our own community and to teach our children the true meaning of giving and what it truly means to help others. As a result, we have decided to help support and to empower abused women and children in the York Region community through the organization, Yellow Brick House by starting a donation drive called “Second Chance”  Stay tuned *NEW* secondchancedonate@hotmail.com Any new item that will benefit a child, mom or teenager would be much appreciated.  So much to enjoy and to be thankful for this summer!!!  Let's think about those in need.                                                                                                 Yellow Brick House have indicated that they are in great need for pyjamas for both children (all ages, but specifically for boys) and women’s undergarments. Please keep in mind the teenagers! Most often they get looked over during the festive season because the focus is magnified on the moms, babies and small children.
